Liberty Middle School Technology Plan: 2021-2022
Introduction
Liberty Middle School strives to incorporate research based learning strategies into its daily curriculum. In a 21st century classroom, technology use should be a natural extension of every class assignment. Students and teachers alike should have the latest hardware and software at their fingertips, making learning meaningful and pertinent. For any technology to be successfully implemented and used, professional learning and training must occur. The media staff will offer continued training on the 21st century classroom, which includes Using Destiny, Understanding Outlook and OneDrive, Conducting Research, Creating with BookCreator, Using References, Finding Credible Websites, Using Search Engines Properly and Citing Resources. Initial in-services will be needed, but continued refreshers and updates will also be required. Liberty Middle School students will receive training opportunities, during their two-week check-out rotation. These trainings will help the patrons to become more proficient in the use of technology for research-based assignments and activities.
Goals
Liberty Middle School’s technology goal for students is to create a yearlong professional learning program that promotes and models lessons that directly impact the students ability to conduct effective research.
Liberty Middle School’s technology goal for students is to increase awareness of readily available, free technology tools and how to embed these tools into research based student projects.
