Course Syllabus
CTAE courses will get you on the fast track to your future. Whatever your plans may be after high school, CTAE courses and career pathways will give you a head start in many technical and professional careers. Our goal is for you to be a success whether you choose to go into the workforce, enlist in the military, go to a technical college, or enter a college or university.
Course Description: In Career Development students discover who they are and how they can choose a satisfying career for their adult world.
Through a unique approach students will
- Identify their core passions, talents and values
- Investigate career clusters
- Use practical planning and decision making tools to develop a career plan
- Build leadership and teamwork skills that employers want
- Examine workplace realities
- Explore personal finance relating to their future
- Practice the education and job search skills they need to implement their career plan
Internet Acceptable Use: Use of the Internet must be in support of education and research and consistent with the educational objectives of the NCSS. The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result in cancellation of those privileges. Any student user not complying with the NCSS Internet Acceptable Use Agreement shall lose Internet privileges for a period of not less than one week. Ms. Suzy’s website will be used as an integral part of this course.
Required Material: All students must have a journal and a notebook for class as well as a pencil, pen, and highlighter.

Late Assignments: All assignments turned in late must have prior approval from Ms. Suzy
Make-up Policy: Students will be given a total of three days to make up assignments
Re-do Policy: Re-do’s will be at the discretion of Ms. Suzy

The course syllabus is a general plan for the course; all information contained in the course syllabus/calendar is subject to change. Any changes will be announced in class and a revised syllabus distributed to students to be shared with their parents/guardians.
